Quality designer clothes, shoes, and accessories continue to be in high demand. Over the past few years, there has been an increase in spending on these high-end products. In 2011, for example, men’s spending on luxury items increased on a global basis. In fact, it grew nearly twice as fast as women’s luxury spending, and accounted for 40% of 2011’s global sales.

Retail sales for men’s designer footwear, such as leather dress shoes and mens exotic skin shoes, also increased. These sales grew by 39% for the period of 2009 to 2014. Sales for men’s accessories, such as luxury leather bags, also increased significantly during this time period. The sales for men’s bags increased by 24%, and sales for small leather goods, such as belts and wallets, increased by 40%.

Currently, men’s dress shoes represent 6% of the total market share for shoes. Exotic leathers in particular are popular, and represent 1% of all globally-traded leathers. In addition to eel skin, ostrich, and crocodile skin shoes and boots, men are also purchasing other exotic shoes for men.

Millennials have been shown to be a key consumer base for a variety of personal accessories. This group ranges in age from 18 to 34, and there are approximately 75 million Millennials in the United States alone.

The average consumer, which of course includes the Millennial age group, will usually wear a minimum of 4 leather items at a time. Whether they’re wearing these items to work, social occasions, or a combination of both, mens exotic skin shoes, belts, wallets, and watch straps are becoming more in demand.

When men wear quality designer clothes, mens exotic skin shoes, and accessories to interviews, meetings, and career-based events, they can make a positive first impression. Dressing for success on a regular basis will, of course, continue to reinforce that positive opinion. Furthermore, several studies have demonstrated that visual cues are actually 3 to 5-times more powerful than audio cues.

First impressions are formed in a manner of seconds. This occurs during the first 7 to 17 seconds when someone is introduced to another person, according to psychology studies. It’s also important to note that physical appearance is a determining factor in this, and over half, or 55%, of a person’s opinion is based on this factor. In addition to wearing fashionable designer clothing and accessories, being conscientious about grooming can contribute to this as well.

It is expected that men, as well as women, will continue to purchase luxury items. It’s also possible that men’s spending on these and other items will continue to exceed women’s.
